Curriculum
The curriculum is divided into nine levels, beginning through advanced. Students are
tested and placed in classes according to their ability. Periodic re-evaluation assures
that each student is constantly placed at the proper level.Courses for the week-long sessions begin every
Monday. Daily study is from 8 AM to 2 PM. There are four hours of concentrated studies of
language each day. The two hours from noon to 2 PM are spent in one of the following:
| * |
Group discussions for
the advanced students |
| * |
Group singing of Canciones
Mexicanas |
| * |
Playing games to become
familiar with numbers in Spanish |
| * |
Tours of local museums
and other points of cultural interest |
Courses for the weekends begin at 8 AM Saturday and
Sunday. The eight hours of intensive studies cover grammar, reading, writing and homework.
Learning activities include conversation with your Mexican family and others in the
Ensenada environment. Arrangements can be made for additional hours. |
Classes
Classes are kept small (maximum of 5 students). This insures a high degree of
individualized attention and monitoring of progress.
Optional programs
To provide additional enrichment and better understanding of the Mexican culture and
language, we offer programs in the evening from 7 to 8:30 pm. Programs available include
individual attention focusing on grammar or stressing conversation. We also offer a
"conversation club" which is led by an instructor and usually meets at a
restaurant, cafe or a host families home. This optional program is covered by your
enrollment fees. |
