Buttocks augmentation with implant is usually done because:
- The patient needs her buttocks slightly lifted.
- Can provide an improvement in buttock contour by increasing projection and creating a rounder, fuller shape.
- It makes the curves of the hips look better.
- Makes the buttocks more firm and gives each buttock better definition.
- Has a natural feel like the patient has been working out with weight or exercising hard.

Some patients typically do not have developed gluteus muscles or at least bulk. Consequently with aging and after childbirth many loose skin elasticity that need to be filled up. This can be seen in the before photo. The buttocks tend to be flat, elongated, and with out any degree of buttock projection.

What ever the etiologic factor the sagging buttock, is a constant cause of dissatisfaction and becomes an emotional “hang-up”, common complaints heard from women who are candidates for butt. augmentation and lifting by implants.

The buttocks shape changes with age. Over the time the buttocks are wide, flat; with poor skin quality, and some droopiness in the lower buttock area, due to excess skin.

Buttocks augmentation + gluteal lifting by implants:
It is a very common association to those who have square buttocks associated to flabbiness and those who have some sagging on the inferior part.

Buttock lift can be achieved by inserting implants between gluteus muscle to round and lift the sagging areas.

You would be the ideal candidate for using the implants in the intra-muscular space, the implants compared with fat transfer has a more direct impact in this zone.

The scar placement is one of the most important factors.  Through a midline incision in the upper buttocks crease, a pocket is carefully developed in the gluteus maximus muscle, then the buttock implant is slipped into this carefully pocket.

UPPER BUTTOCK: It is important to know how much fat is in the patient’s buttock and where it is distributed. Other wise, the buttock will look square and unattractive.

MID BUTTOCK: Some bear an indentation in the buttock. If so; the surgeon must fill it with fat because, if the buttock is made larger, the defect will be bigger.

THE LOWER BUTTOCK: The problem may be excess skin or fat. If so, those tissues are removed.

Lifting the thigh/buttock complex with a buttock implants restores tissues to more youthful location, producing more natural contours and preserving the buttock fold.

Understandably, most patients are concerned about how these scars will look after surgery. This scar is mostly well hidden in the crease with only a small part just above the ‘crack’ area. While these scars will be red for up to six months after surgery, eventual fading of them will make their appearance as a fine white vertical line and small white dots. Most patients consider these scars as negligible and a very small trade-off to make for the benefits of a larger and shapelier buttocks appearance.
